The Association (German: Verein) elects half of the members of the Board for a period of two years each December at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). Parent members of the Board (4) are elected by the parents of students currently attending the school. Non-Parent members of the Board (4) are elected by the Non-Parent members of the Verein (interested persons who do not have children attending ISH). A teacher member is elected for a two year period by the faculty members. The Head of School is an ex officio Board member.
The Board meets approximately 8 times a year to revise and/or review the school’s policies and its financial operations.
The Head of School prepares a monthly written report on the activities at ISH for the Board. Brief reports of Board meetings are written by the Chair for inclusion in the school newsletter.
