Embark on a voyage of learning

Personal Project 2017

Friday, the 10th of March, saw a busy and buzzing Aula alive with an insightful and very creative Exhibition set up by Grade 10 students. The theme of the Exhibition was based on an MYP Personal Project, which encourages students to practise and strengthen their approaches to learning (ATL) skills, to consolidate prior and subject-specific learning, and to develop an area of personal interest.

This personal project provided an excellent opportunity for students to produce a truly personal and often creative product/outcome, and to demonstrate a consolidation of their learning in the MYP. The project offered many opportunities for differentiation of learning and expression according to students’ individual needs, and revolved around a challenge that motivates and interests the individual student.

Each student developed a personal project independently as well as set it up. From food diets, motorbike mechanics, fashion design, self-made environmentally conscious make-up, shoe-making cobbler to taking a stand on Feminism, the students immersed themselves fully in their presentations that culminated in a well attended highly detailed and one of the most informative exhibitions held at ISH.
