01.08.2019 – 31.07.2020
The Application Fee is EUR 500 per child.
This ensures the processing of the application for admission of a new student or of a student returning after an absence of one year or longer. This fee does not guarantee admission to the school. The Application Fee is to be paid at the time of application, must accompany the Application Form and is non-refundable.
Tuition Fees (August 2019 - July 2020)
The annual Tuition Fee depends on the grade level and is set out as indicated below:
The costs of mandatory overnight and day trips, membership in the ISH Association and one copy of the yearbook per child are included in the annual Tuition Fee.
With the exception of the Early Childhood Centre, school materials such as paper and pencils are not included in the annual Tuition Fee.
For families with three or more children enrolled at ISH simultaneously, the school will grant the following reductions for the youngest child(ren) in the family:
- 10% reduction of the annual Tuition Fee for the third child
- 15% reduction of the annual Tuition Fee for the fourth child and any additional children.
Campus Development Fee
|Year 1 at ISH
|Year 2 at ISH
This is a non-refundable fee payable over two years, which is intended for the improvement and enhancement of the school. For students returning after an absence of one year or longer, all prior payments are credited to this total. However, departing students who have attended the school for two months or less in the school year of their departure pay only half of the Campus Development Fee levied in that school year.
During the school year, additional expenditures may be incurred. Charges e.g. for college testing, external testing and (IB) examinations, non-mandatory school, day and sport trips, graduation expenses, swimming and other extra-curricular programmes will be charged separately for those participating. Lost books belonging to the school will be invoiced according to the current replacement value of the lost book, including a handling fee of EUR 10 per book not returned.
The school bus fee will be determined according to the number of students riding the bus.
The fees for self-taught and mother tongue language courses, school photos, and hot lunches will be invoiced by, and paid directly to, the service provider.
Payment Of Fees
All tuition and fees for students who start in August are payable in advance, at the latest by 1st August 2019. For students who start during the school year, payments are due within two weeks after the start or invoicing date. Past due accounts are charged with a late fee of 5% per annum above the base rate of interest.
All parents are liable for fee payments on the due date, whether or not companies assume responsibility for all or part of the fees. Furthermore, parents are liable for all bank charges incurred.
It is possible to pay the school fees in two instalments, which will increase the annual Tuition Fee by 2%.
For students who begin at the start of the school year, the first instalment 60% is to be paid on 1st August 2019 and second instalment of 42% to be paid on 1st January 2020.

The 25% Clause
Up to 25% of students at the International School of Hamburg, whose families face financial constraints, can be admitted under certain conditions. The purpose of this clause is to ensure social diversity and to make the International School of Hamburg accessible to students with the interest and need for an international education, but who are unable to pay the normal tuition.
Entry under the 25% clause is not automatic and depends upon the admission requirements set by the Board of the International School of Hamburg. The application forms for the school year 2019/2020 are available in the Admissions Office and must be submitted by 29 March 2019. Late applications cannot be considered. For further information, please contact the Admissions Office.
The above conditions apply for the entire school year. ISH reserves the right to dismiss or ask that a student be withdrawn if school fees are not paid in accordance with ISH financial regulations.
The Schedule of Fees indicates the Tuition Fee rates of the respective school year and summarises the most important clauses of the school contract. It shall provide a comprehensive overview of conditions but does not replace the school contract as the legally binding document. For further regulations please refer to the school contract.
