A heartfelt Thank You to all ISH families and supporting companies - International Fair, 2019
Parent Teacher Association (PTA) would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to all ISH Families and supporting Companies, that so graciously donated merchandise, vouchers and gifts to the TOMBOLA raffle event at the International Fair. Parents also contributed towards filling beautiful country baskets with traditional goodies, and gave their valuable time volunteering for the preparations of the event, the delicious food and the beautiful country stalls. All of the proceeds raised from this event will be donated to charities, either directly by the PTA or through our Student Community Service Projects.
This year more than 20 countries participated in the fair by donating wonderful traditional and national dishes. These were Singapore, Malaysia, Turkey, Netherlands, China, Japan, Spain, Russia, Nordic countries, France, South Africa, Kenya, Namibia, Israel, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, India, Korea, Venezuela, United Kingdom, USA, Italy and for the first time Iran. The country stalls were spread out in the aula, the cafeteria and the foyer.
The event started off with our students’ flag parade representing over 50 nations here at ISH many of them proudly wearing their national gear and many could be seen sampling sweet and savoury food, young and old playing games in the gym while enjoying fantastic performances on stage in the aula.
The International Fair is the most exciting annual event of the year. The spirit of the community was highly evident as families and friends, colleagues and schoolmates all took part in contributing towards the initiative of the fair which is to raise money to causes here at ISH and beyond.
Student community service projects to benefit from the proceeds are Kids4Kids, Sri Lanka Project, Tanzania Project, Girl Up and The Community Service Club. All these projects have students and supervisors who work towards improving the lives of those in need locally and in other parts of the world.
A big thank you goes to the PTA and all community members who volunteered for the event and all donors and well-wishers. It was again a colourful and most successful event.
