Impressions of the 2020 ISH Loves Talent: Valentine's Day

In the spirit of Valentine's Day, ISH Loves Talent came to the Aula once again on February 12. The annual production which is organized by the Student Council, had Ms. Patricia Hayward and Mr. David Ezard in the foyer entertaining guests with their beautiful music on strings while waiting for the doors to open.

Student Council Communications Officer Rohan and Vice President Charlotte hosted the event, introducing acts from students in grades 6-12. Hermion, Student Council President, monitored decibel readings for individual acts throughout the production while Student Council representatives sold drinks and snacks and worked back-stage throughout the evening.

Two nights before the curtains opened, there was a brief Tech run-through, supervised by Mr. Rui and his team. Acts ranged from vocal performances to dances, to instrumental acts and magic shows. The senior band, 'Blood Pressure', dedicated its performance to Mr. De Beer, who retired at the end of last year, but who has been a staunch supporter of ISH Loves Talent, and many other productions, for years. The wide range of talents shared and the representation of students from all grades, 6-12, made this an evening to remember. Because traditionally the show is not a competition per se, there is not a jury. However, the audience voted with their applause for the individual acts, and top honors for Middle School went to Ben in grade 7 and Matthew in grade 8, and for High School to Athina and Yesu in grade 12.

ISH Loves Talent would not have been possible without the technical talents of our amazing Tech Crew, Timur, Alex, James, Gianluca, and Massey, led by Mr. Rui. In addition, the Student Council would like to thank Mr. Kamran Zaker of Strategic Accounts EMEA, Lifestyle Audi of Harman for its prize donations, the PTA for providing participation gifts, Mr. Cover for taking photos of the evening and Ms. Cover the Student Council Supervisor who oversaw the success of the event. Well done, everyone!
