ISH Summerfest, 2018

June 4, 2018
Despite the sombre weather that started out with pouring rain, the ISH positive spirit could not be dampened.
The rain stopped just in time for the Summerfest and Flea Market and a good number of around 500 people from ISH community and its neighbourhood showed up!
The Summerfest and Flea market is one of our favourite yearly events. The BBQ was sizzling, the bouncy castle was blowing away with delighted kids, little faces were painted with favourite themes, the music by Elephunk was cool, the teenies enjoyed a Colour Fest and the flea market was buzzing away with buyers and sellers, young and old.

As with every year, the new PTA team, successfully organised this event with the aim of raising money for good causes. Quite a few projects (like Kids4Kids) and many individuals who usually raise funds for good causes, participated. This year the proceeds will go to NCL Stiftung and Schule Hirtenweg. These are two institutions in Hamburg that care for children with severe disabilities as well as research on little known neurodegenerative disorders. Nothing was put to waste. Plastic bottles were collected for recycling and unsold wares were donated to Tanzania and Sri Lanka Projects. A big thanks to you all!
Special thanks go to the PTA, Leadership team who were the BBQ masters, our many volunteers, Work Crew, Tanzania Project members for organising, helping to set up and clear up and our in and out community for turning up and reinforcing our spirit of help and service to the less fortunate.
