This past Friday, March 15, the Junior School hosted its 2019 Talent Showcase. From singing, to dancing, to musical instruments, skits, and even karate, our Junior School students put on a variety of different performances, each demonstrating their unique abilities. There were both individual and group acts; highlights included a skit based on the nursery rhyme “Mary Had a Little Lamb”, performed by a group of Grade 4 girls. It was a crowd favourite and had many of the front-row ECC students in giggles. We saw ISH’s first ever breakdancing, performed by two acts, one a Grade 4, and the other, two Grade 3 students. There was also a beautiful rendition of Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song” from a Grade 2 singer, accompanied by Mr. Ezard on the piano, which brought tears to the eye. As a surprise treat for the audience, Junior School staff organised a flash mob for the end of the show—even our Junior School Principal, Ms. Weishof, and the AP Mr. Klimkeit, joined in!
Well done to our Junior School students for participating and for allowing us to share in their talents—that takes courage. A special thank you should be made to the staff involved for putting together such a lovely occasion for our community, especially to Ms. Roberge (Organiser), Ms. Menon (Flash Mob Coach), Mr. Dexter and Ms. Abbott (Tech Crew), and Mr. Ezard, Ms. Earwaker, Ms. Braun, Mr. D’Amico, Mr. Whitfield, Ms. McNaughton, Mr. Meston, Ms. Smith and Ms. Jahnke (Student Mentors).
