Musicals & Plays
The International School of Hamburg lays claim to a fantastic Arts Programme which provides students with an opportunity to showcase their talents dramatically and musically both in and outside of the classroom.
Junior School Winter Concert (Grades 1-4), ECC Winter Concert (P1-3), Junior School Choir Project and Grade 5 Annual Production
These concerts showcase all the learning that has taken place over the year demonstrating concepts and skills with different melodic instruments like xylophones, maracas, ocarinas, drums and others.
The Theatre and Music departments work cooperatively throughout the school year. Two major productions are performed each school year. A Musical takes place in November in which students from grades 6-12 may participate. A Spring Play, open to grades 6-11, is usually performed in March. There is a tech crew consisting of students who apply and are accepted from grade 6-12.
Music Enrichment Concerts
The ISH Music Enrichment Programme (MEP) provides extra-curricular, practical and theoretical instruction for students from grades 1-12. It offers instruction, both individual and ensemble, on the school premises. The Instructors are all English-speaking, local musicians, with high educational commitment. Concerts are then held where students get to entertain and show their talents to the community.
The Tech Crew is responsible for all sound, lights, sets and backstage management for the musicals, drama productions, talent shows, dances and assemblies. There is a Stage Design Team that creates and makes the set pieces for the school shows. The Tech Crew and Stage Design Team are part of our Extra Curriculum Activities Programme (ECAP).
