At ISH we embed technology into our learning activities to deliberately improve each aspect of the academic process, knowledge and skill acquisition, analysis/synthesis, and presentation.
Digital Citizenship lessons run by qualified teachers and members of our IT department ensure our students cope successfully with the challenges of the digital age. Learn more about our vision of digital citizenship here
Students access carefully chosen educational and productivity tools and services throughout the day to learn new content, collaborate and organise their thoughts, build and present their own ideas through writing, static multimedia, as well as performance and production for audio and video. This access is provided via a robust and secure campus-wide wireless network, interactive displays in every classroom, school-provided ipads and laptops at younger grades, and Bring-Your-Own devices (BYOD) at older grade levels.
As we have integrated secure cloud tools into our academic workflow at almost all grade levels we have seen significant improvement in students' ability to collaborate in group projects. Cloud tools also improve opportunities for teacher and peer feedback.
While we educate our students to choose and use productivity and collaboration tools authentically in their academic workflow, we are also conscious of the value of face-to-face interaction and teach students to communicate productivity with each other by looking attentively, listening carefully, thinking critically, and responding constructively.
