Financial Aid

 

At the International School of Hamburg (ISH), we believe that education is a right that should be accessible to all children, regardless of their families' financial means. Our Financial Aid (FinAid) Program is designed to ensure that every family who has the need has the opportunity to provide their children with a high-quality international education at ISH.

Our FinAid Program is available to families who need financial support to cover the cost of their children's education. The program is generally open to all families who do not exceed certain income and asset thresholds. Through this initiative, we aim to foster a diverse and inclusive school community where students from various backgrounds can learn and grow together.

 

Income and Tuition Fee Structure:

For families with one child, the top income threshold is €150,000 gross, with allowances for families with multiple children. The tuition fees are determined as follows:

The annual tuition fee may vary depending on additional family assets, excluding the primary residence. The asset-based adjustments are as follows:

This program ensures that ISH remains accessible to families seeking an international education but who are unable to pay the full tuition. Admission to this program is based on meeting eligibility requirements and the availability of funds, which are allocated according to specific criteria.

We invite all eligible families to apply for this program and ensure their applications are complete and submitted promptly.

Application Process:

Families who meet the criteria are encouraged to:

1. Request a financial aid application form from finaid@ishamburg.org during the online school application process.

2. Carefully review the full eligibility requirements to determine if you qualify.

3. At least one parent must be gainfully employed in or near Hamburg during the school year.

4. Families receiving significant financial support from their employer for school fees are not eligible.

5. Financial aid applications will be considered only after a formal admission offer has been made by our Admissions team.

6. Incomplete applications will not be considered. The application must be signed by both parents/guardians and submitted as a single PDF document.

7. School fee reductions are granted for one year and must be reapplied for annually.

8. Approval of financial aid is provisional until the submission of the previous year’s official tax return.
